We recently gave an artist’s talk about our project at Somerset Film’s Creative Network in the Engine Room in Bridgwater (https://ignitesomerset.wordpress.com)
We enjoyed meeting everyone and we were really pleased by the enthusiastic response and discussions about the challenges of filming and data-gathering in the rural environment.
Thank you to Richard Tomlinson for inviting us and for giving us some good advice on recording sufficient ‘wild track’ of sheep baa-ing and other ambient sounds, which will be useful during the editing process when we’re working with him later this month creating a film from the latest footage from the farm. This will be shown at the Thelma Hulbert Gallery exhibition in September – where we’re hoping we’ll be able to explore the possibility of a split screen installation, showing the flocking of the sheep from four different perspectives simultaneously – the sheep, the farmer, the dog and the gate-post!
